Surgical Nursing

What is the definition of medical surgical nursing or simply medical surgical?
Medical Surgical Nursing is a combination of surgery patients (gallbladder removal, hernia, intestinal resection, etc.) with medical cases (such as pneumonia, congestive heart failure, hypertension, diabetes). They are usually found in one unit. We try to keep the surgical cases together (for example, a person with removal of the gallbladder with a person with a hernia repair in the same room), and together the medical cases. From time to time to ensure that patients isolation (people with C-diff, MRSA, VRE or departure of some kind), which gives you some experience with that since its a different procedure to care for them (gowns, gloves, masks in some cases and sanitation is a huge thing in isolation rooms.) My apartment that my work is a kind of free for all …. were the Trauma, until we close OB / GYNE department. Now we orthopedics, Gyne, medical, surgical. It is a busy place, now busier than ever has been. But his great experience. Student nurses in my unit receiving of love that never cuz its the same two days. I feel like med / surg is a great place to start nursing career, get some experience under her wings, and then go to special units such as ICU. In this way you are better prepared.
